Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea
Abramovich confirmed his plans to sell in a statement on Wednesday evening and said net proceeds from the sale would be donated to a charitable foundation which would be “for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine”. He said he would not be asking for the money he has loaned Chelsea since buying the club in 2003 to be repaid.

That asset of £1.5bn being the loan to Chelsea should still be seized by the government and liquidated for the benefit of Ukraine.

Re: Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea
Abramovic does not own the pitch, its owned by a supporters group which is an issue for anyone buying the Club.

In other countries, the assets of criminals such as Abramovich are properly being seized by the state and the same should happen here.
The Stamford Bridge pitch could be turned into one of those urban farms and surrounding accommodation handed over to Ukranian refugees.
Those who go on about 'sportswashing' conveniently overlook the fact that one of our glorious Big 6 has been run by a Russian criminal for decades.

Any trophies they won in his era should be discounted.

Re: Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea
They will be lucky to get another owner who just sees it as a hobby, who couldn't give a fuck about money and just wants to win trophies. They won't just implode of course, but hopefully will now be winning less in years to come.

If I was a billionaire I'd be thinking... Umm, nut job and pal of wannabe ex Chelsea owner keen on selling huge plot in London (key target for ICBM's) wants in excess of £2bn for said site. Could be a fucking big hole and uninhabitable for 500 years or more. What's not to like about that deal!

Perfect opportunity to seize the club and give it back to the fans, German style.

No shock to see it's Roeder who started this thread, since he has always had an obsession with 'the gangster'

He's hardly in a good position to dictate a decent price.

100% agree with that. This crook should not be allowed to dictate his leaving terms and Chelsea should in no way continue to benefit from his dirty money.

Re: Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea
Mind you this could all be a crafty way to hang on to the club, say its up for sale, all procceds to charity, then put a massive asking price on it knowing full well no one is going to buy it, in the mean time any sanctions or grab for his assets put on hold as they are “for sale”.

Conflict ends, sanctions ease on Putins mates, he changes his mind………..

Re: Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea
This crook should not be allowed to sell. They should freeze all his assets. Sell off all Chelsea's assets. Sell the ground to Brentford or Fulham, and put the money in a trust fund to be given back to the Russian tax payer from whom all this wealth was embezzled. This might be harsh on the true Chelsea fans (The less than 9,000 who turned up to watch them be beaten by Coventry in the mid 90s), The plastics and prawn sandwich brigade can fuck off. Then they should strip them of all the trophies they have won with this cunt's ill gotten gains.

All this I’ll give proceeds to charity is basically trying to avoid being sanctioned. If you freeze my assets the charity’s will lose out.

Insist the sale money is paid into a UK bank and then seize it all.

Good business.

Sven Roeder 9:03 Wed Mar 2
Re: Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea
If he is 'writing off' the loan then the value of the club is higher without that debt to be repaid
i suspect the loan will be written off only with some quid pro quo where the new owners repay some or all off the books or in some asset swap.

The loan is an asset that should be seized rather than dancing to the mute gangsters tune.
